Nick White received his BA in Fine Arts from Ohio Wesleyan University in 1970 and continued on to the University of Cincinnati School of Design Art and Architecture where he completed his architectural studies in 1975. After several mandatory internships, he received his licensure and made his way to Petoskey in 1979 where he opened his own firm. It is one of the oldest architecture firms in Michigan still under the same ownership. His home styles vary with the tastes of each client but traditional styles of Midwest Cottage and East Coast Shingle style are most common in the portfolio. The majority of his homes are the clients’s second or third homes…the cottage. “Most families have multiple homes throughout their lives but only one cottage. We take this responsibility greatly.” Having spent every summer in a lake cottage since the early 1950’s Nick has the “feel” for the cottage lifestyle. Nick and his wife Betsy live in Petoskey in a Cotswold style home they completed several years ago. They have three grown children and 6 grandchildren.
